Too easy to be widely social

Internet applications like Facebook make being social easy. Frankly, I’m thrilled to have reconnected with past colleagues on Facebook. At the same time, Facebook presents me with recommended friend connections that are a bit far afield. I’ve cut off the chatter from my lovely nieces and nephews. That’s just too much knowledge.

Today, I also dropped several causes. I’m never going to contribute time or commentary or, particularly, money, regardless of my initial interest.

So, is it too easy to be social? Perhaps, as this bit shows:

Having traveled with my young teen niece, I’ve little doubt that this extraordinary case is possible.
