What’s in a name?

I like Ethiopian Yergacheffe coffee because, in addition to great, balanced flavor, the name is simply fun to say.

But, Yergacheffe takes second place to Guatemalan Hue Hue Tenango (or Huehuetenango). That’s a party-off-the-tongue of a word.

I didn’t buy the Tshirt in Hawaii with the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a on it. That’s a mouthful of a name but when you see a tourist in flips and black socks wearing it, well, enough said.

What brought this all up was stumbling around today I came across this place in New Zealand. I’m uncertain that this wins any prizes other than simple awe. I’d love to have someone of Maori descent add a comment with a recording of its proper pronunciation. Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaunga-

Thanks to satishgsk at Google Earth Community for a nice posting that may win you a trivia contest or two should you decide to take a side trip her or his way.
